Origins
In March 2000, the dotcom bubble burst.
For Jef Vertongen (administration), Bonnie Pachel
(administration), Christophe Vienne (Java software
engineer) and Xavier Denayer (Java software
engineer), the time was right to set up ithomi.
Vincent Amadou (Java software engineer) reinforced
ithomi's ranks in 2001. Dries Verachtert (Java
software engineer & Linux administrator)
joined the ithomi team in 2004.
Services
ithomi started out supplying and implementing
general Internet development applications (HTML,
ASP, JSP, Java, etc.), and went on to specialise
in Java development, with an emphasis on the
integration of front-end and back-end applications
(JSP, Struts, Java, EJB). The focus on the service-provision
side is primarily on consultancy. ithomi also
has the resources to develop projects inhouse. |
Methodology
ithomi initially used RUP (Rational
Unified Process), a de facto method for carrying
out object-oriented, object-based or component-based
projects. It has since started working with
the eXtreme Programming methodology.
Distinguishing
characteristics
Quality is top of the agenda for ithomi.
Every team member is thoroughly familiar with
the technologies used, either through training
or through self-study. As such, we provide both
technology and knowledge of how to apply that
technology successfully. Often it is not technology
that is the complicating factor in a project,
but the means of effectively using it to succeed.
The ithomi team also stands out for its commitment,
thanks in part to a flexible approach attuned
to the customer's needs and wishes. Quality
solutions are consistently delivered, on time
and within budget.
The basis for all this is a stable, balanced
team. Every team member has been personally
recruited by us. As a result, ithomi can offer
you unrivalled quality.
Which is as it should be. |
