JMS in a J2EE environment
You might not realise it when you push the send button in your Outlook mail client, but at that
moment you are executing an asynchronous message based communication protocol. There are numerous advantages to this approach: you don't have to wait until the receiver has made up his mind to give you a response, you can
send the message to multiple receivers and the message can be transformed before it is delivered
to its final receiver (you know what I mean when you have had to print a mail for your boss).
In this workshop we will show you how to establish asynchronous communication between computer systems.
We will use the standardised JMS API for sending messages to an ActiveMQ server. A Message Driven Bean will be listening on this queue and handle the messages. In case the processing of the message goes wrong, we will show you how to handle erroneous message.
